US President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to hold a new presidential election, saying Volodymyr Zelenskyy should negotiate a deal with Russia to end the war.
Trump also blamed Zelenskyy for increases in diesel prices in the United States, warning Kyiv to stop striking Russian oil refineries he claims will supply American fuel.
The statements came on 10 October 2026, the same day Britain's Prime Minister held a separate phone call with Zelenskyy, according to the UK government.
